Henkel expands its presence in rapidly growing regional industrial and mining markets through the acquisition of Nordbak.

Henkel has acquired Nordbak, a South Africa-based company. Nordbak is a supplier specializing in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions with a strong position in the mining, infrastructure and industrial sectors. With its broad product portfolio, proven customer base and deep application expertise, Nordbak strategically strengthens Henkel's MRO offerings significantly in a rapidly growing regional market.

This acquisition aligns with Henkel's global growth strategy within its Adhesive Technologies business unit and represents an important milestone in expanding its presence in emerging markets. It enables the company to rapidly increase its presence in the South Africa region, where there is strong demand for high-performance repair and protection technologies.

Henkel aims to combine application expertise, complementary technologies and strong local presence to benefit from Nordbak's established position in the South Africa MRO market, particularly in the mining sector.

Arash Radgoudarzi, Country Head, Henkel South Africa, stated: "This acquisition marks the beginning of a new era of growth and innovation for both Henkel and Nordbak. The acquisition provides a strategically strong fit for our global MRO platform. By combining international sustainability standards and technological expertise with Nordbak's customer proximity and industrial knowledge, we will create added value for our customers and contribute to the protection and lifetime extension of critical infrastructure throughout South Africa."

The acquisition also demonstrates Henkel's long-term commitment to the South Africa market. The company will continue this commitment by investing in local manufacturing capabilities, developing regional technical expertise and supporting industrial resilience through innovation. As part of this commitment, Henkel will work to align its operations with international sustainability standards; promoting responsible growth and environmental responsibility throughout the value chain.
