PPG Wins 2026 Ringier Technology Innovation Award for Excimer UV Coatings

PPG's excimer UV matte coatings recognised with 2026 Ringier Technology Innovation Award in Coatings Industry category.

PPG announced that its excimer ultraviolet (UV) matte coatings developed for consumer electronics products have been recognised with the 2026 Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the Coatings Industry category. The annual awards, which recognise products and technologies advancing the coatings sector through innovation and practical applications, were presented recently during the China Coatings and Inks Summit & Fair held in Shanghai.

Excimer coatings are cured using special excimer (excited dimer) UV light, creating an ultra-matte and skin-like soft texture. PPG excimer UV coatings are offered in both water-based and solvent-based formulation options and are designed for metal and plastic devices such as laptops, keyboards, mobile phones, wearable devices and smart home products. These coatings cure significantly faster than conventional technologies, providing manufacturers with flexibility in meeting diverse production and application requirements.
