FIRST-EVER WOMEN'S COUNCIL ESTABLISHED IN TİM'S HISTORY

The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has established the "TİM Women's Council" to increase the number of female exporters. TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle stated: "During this period when we are achieving significant breakthroughs as a country, with the labor and support of our women, we will continuously and sustainably increase our exports and reach our national goals at a much faster pace. Through the council we have established, we aim to quickly resolve the problems our female exporters face in the business world and enable them to carry out their projects more effectively. With this council we are launching a new mobilization in exports," he said. The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) has established the "TİM Women's Council" within its organization to increase the number of female exporters, develop women's employment and entrepreneurship in the business world. TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle stated in his remarks: "We are greatly pleased to set a precedent in TİM's history today by establishing the Women's Council. During this period when we are achieving significant breakthroughs as a country, with the labor and support of our women, we will continuously and sustainably increase our exports and reach our national goals at a much faster pace. With the council we are establishing, we are launching a new mobilization in exports. We will focus both on solving the existing problems of our female exporters and on increasing the number of new exporters. After determining our Council's roadmap, we will continue our efforts hand in hand with our female delegates to ensure greater participation of women in the business and export community," he said.

TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle said: "As our President has stated, in our view women are humanity's teachers. They already possess a strong intuition, a God-given ability. We want to integrate this talent more into exports. For this reason, we decided to establish a Women's Council in which our female delegates will play a more active role. As emphasized by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, 'Everything we see in the world is the work of women'." he continued. Noting that as of 2018 there were 5,200 female exporters, TİM Chairman said: "That means only 7.3 percent of our 71,000 exporting firms consist of women. With our new management, for the first time a woman member took place in TİM's management. Similarly, while we had 39 women members in the Management Boards of our Exporters' Associations previously, we now have 55 women members. We are determined to increase these numbers further. We aim to increase the number of both our female exporters and female delegates and ensure that more women workers are represented in the business world. Therefore, we believe that the establishment of our Women's Council will be a cornerstone for both our country and TİM," he said. Regarding the work to be carried out within the Council, TİM Chairman stated: "Through the council we have established, we aim to quickly resolve the problems our female exporters face in the business world and enable them to carry out their projects more effectively. To this end, we will reward our successful female exporters more. We will bring together successful female exporters and entrepreneurs from Turkey and around the world. We will encourage greater participation of women entrepreneurs in our trade delegations," he added. The TİM Women's Council is expected to meet during October to establish its roadmap and begin concrete projects.
