Kordsa Reinforces İzmir's Longest Tunnel

With a total tunnel length of 7 kilometers, the Buca-Bornova Tunnel, İzmir's longest highway tunnel, will use KraTos synthetic fiber reinforcement produced by Kordsa, a company whose mission is to strengthen life and reach into every corner of living. The synthetic fiber reinforcement KraTos, produced by Kordsa, was selected for a new phase of the 183 million Turkish Lira express road project that will connect Homer Boulevard in Buca to the Bus Terminal in Bornova, with construction started by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in March. KraTos will be used in the tunnel section of the 7-kilometer new route extending from Buca to Bornova. KraTos, a concrete reinforcement synthetic fiber reinforcement that is a product of Kordsa's rigorous research and development work in the fields of tire, construction reinforcement and composite technologies, is a differentiating product in infrastructure and superstructure construction projects. For concrete reinforcement applications in construction projects, KraTos stands out with ease of use, rapid applicability, reduced labor, improved equipment and energy efficiency, high concrete toughness and long-term durability characteristics.
