The "Mâzîden Âtîye Zarâfet" exhibition has been extended until 29 October

The "From Past to Future: Elegance, Women's Fashion from the Late Ottoman Empire to the Early Years of the Republic" exhibition at Sadberk Hanım Museum, Turkey's first private museum and a cultural institution of the Vehbi Koç Foundation, has been awarded at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024, one of the world's most prestigious design awards. Prepared to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic and featuring women's clothing spanning from the late Ottoman Empire to the early years of the Republic, the exhibition will continue to welcome visitors at the Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion until 29 October. The exhibition, which has been visited by over 133,000 art enthusiasts to date, is open from 11.00 to 19.00, except on Mondays. Organized by Sadberk Hanım Museum with the support of Koç Holding and the Vehbi Koç Foundation in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the "From Past to Future: Elegance, Women's Fashion from the Late Ottoman Empire to the Early Years of the Republic" exhibition has been awarded at the iF DESIGN AWARD, one of the world's most prestigious design competitions held since 1954. The exhibition successfully completed a two-stage evaluation at the Germany-based competition, where 10,800 submissions were received from 72 countries across 9 different disciplines, and won the award in the cultural exhibitions category. The exhibition, located in the historic Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion, was awarded for its interior design resulting from improvements in factors such as climate control, acoustics, and lighting. The exhibition, accompanied by music and video installations, has attracted significant visitor interest. Since its opening on 29 October 2023, it has welcomed over 133,000 visitors and has been extended until 29 October 2024 due to strong demand. The exhibition is open from 11.00 to 19.00, except on Mondays. A pleasant journey through time on women's clothing and their roles in contemporary life Within the scope of the exhibition, art enthusiasts embark on a journey through time encompassing the process of fashion transformation that began with 19th-century palace and urban women following European fashion and accelerated with the proclamation of the Republic, as well as women's roles in contemporary life and their acquired rights. Featuring works from the Sadberk Hanım Museum Collection, as well as collections from the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, İnönü Foundation, Mutlu İlmen, Ayfer Neyzi, Ömer M. Koç, and Yapı Kredi, the exhibition also includes a special section dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic. The dresses of Latife Hanım, Mevhibe İnönü, and Afet İnan are being displayed together for the first time.
