Born in Paris to a Vietnamese family, NguyênLê is a jazz musician known throughout the world, yet he has never lost his interest in the traditional music of his native country Vietnam. The artist, who has released many albums and was nominated for the 2015 Echo Jazz Award alongside Bill Frisell and Pat Metheny, has collaborated with renowned artists including Randy Brecker, Vince Mendoza, Eric Vloeimans, Carla Bley, Michel Portal, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Per Mathisen, Marc Johnson, Peter Erskine, Trilok Gurtu, Paolo Fresu and Dhafer Youssef. His first jazz/traditional music fusion attempt came in 1995 with the album "Tales from Vietnam". The master guitarist, who has signed five successful albums with traditional Vietnamese music vocalist HuongThanh, will have his sixteenth album released by ACT Records at the beginning of 2017. For the album that inspired him from traditional Vietnamese music, the artist collaborated with NgôHồngQuang.

Born in Hanoi, NgôHồngQuang became a professional musician as a result of his love for traditional music and began working as a professor at Hanoi University. He has mastered multi-phonic singing and playing traditional instruments such as Đàn Nhị, Đàn Bầu, Đàn Môi and Đàn Tính, instruments generally played by ethnic groups. As a result of his curiosity and desire to open up, he began studying composition at The Hague Conservatory in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In the concert to be held within the scope of World Music Days, we will listen to traditional Vietnamese songs both in their authentic form and in modern arrangements made by the artists.
