Baranyai’s Paintings Meet Art Lovers in Istanbul

As part of parallel events to the 16th Istanbul Biennial, Levente Baranyai, one of Hungary's most renowned painters, opened his first solo exhibition in Turkey on 12 September, presenting his works to art enthusiasts. In his paintings, Baranyai draws from satellite photographs to highlight the damage caused by human activity in space. ALX Hungary, established with the aim of serving as a bridge between Hungary and Turkey and seeking to increase dialogue on trade, economics, tourism, culture and investment between the two countries, supported the first solo exhibition in Turkey by renowned Hungarian painter Levente Baranyai. The exhibition, which will be presented to art enthusiasts at the Hungarian Cultural Centre between 12 September–10 November 2019, will feature Levente Baranyai's acclaimed works free of charge. The exhibition titled "Following the Footsteps of Tyrannussapiens" offers a bird's-eye perspective on human destructive impact on nature within the framework of current Anthropocene discussions. Throughout his artistic career, Baranyai has sought to paint the world's new landscapes in his distinctive style, drawing from satellite photographs in his paintings to highlight the damage caused by human activity in space.
