A first in Turkey from Fibasigorta: Sustainable Future Personal Accident Insurance!

Fibasigorta has added a “Voluntary Carbon Certificate” to its Personal Accident Insurance policy, offsetting policyholders' annual carbon emissions. The company is introducing a new product with the slogan “Your Personal Accident Policy, a Gift to the World,” protecting customers against potential accidents while taking an important step for the future of the world.

Fibasigorta, the address for fast, easy and digital insurance, has launched the “Sustainable Future Personal Accident Insurance’’ product, setting a first in Turkey. The company protects its customers against potential risks while adding a “Voluntary Carbon Certificate” as a gift with each policy. When Fibasigorta customers purchase this product, they contribute to reducing carbon emissions for a sustainable world. The application not only balances individual carbon footprints but also helps to raise awareness of sustainability and enables individuals to take on environmental responsibilities.  The project, which currently begins with the Personal Accident product offered to Fibabanka customers, will soon expand to cover other Fibasigorta products and be offered for sale through all channels.

Erol Özturkoglu, General Director of Fibasigorta, introduced the new insurance product with the following remarks: “As we complete our first year in the sector, we are taking an innovative step for the future of the world. To balance our policyholders' annual carbon footprint, we are offering a carbon certificate as a gift with our policy. According to World Bank data, per capita annual carbon emissions in our country stand at around 4.9 tons. International auditing bodies grant the right to issue 1 ton of certificate for every 1 ton of emissions prevented. Each policy of our ‘Sustainable Future Personal Accident Insurance’ product ensures that 5 tons of carbon emissions are offset through carbon-neutral projects. Through our project, we support the Gold Standard-certified Ziyaret Wind Energy Plant located in Hatay.”
