Investments in charging infrastructure are gaining momentum in parallel with the spread of electric vehicles in Türkiye. Üçay Mühendislik affiliate Elaris increased its number of active AC/DC charging sockets in the first half of 2026 as part of its charging network investments.

The number of active charging sockets, which stood at 71 at the end of 2025, reached 112 as of June 2026, marking a 58 percent increase. Elaris plans to raise the number of active AC/DC charging sockets to 200 by the end of 2026.

Number of electric cars increased by 59 percent in one year
Üçay Mühendislik Executive Board Chairman and CEO Turan Şakacı stated that the growth in Türkiye's electric vehicle market has also accelerated investments in charging infrastructure.

Şakacı said that, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the number of electric cars registered for traffic in Türkiye reached 460,552 as of the end of July 2026. Noting that this figure was 289,457 in the same period last year, Şakacı stated that the annual increase in the number of electric cars was 59.1 percent.

Noting that Elaris has also increased its charging infrastructure investments in parallel with the growth of the market, Şakacı said, "In the first half of 2026, we increased our number of active AC/DC charging sockets by 58 percent to 112. By the end of 2026, we aim to raise our number of active AC/DC charging sockets to 200."

User experience comes to the fore in charging infrastructure
Elaris's growth strategy involves not only increasing the number of sockets but also improving the accessibility and continuity of the charging service.

Şakacı noted that location selection, charging capacity, energy management and digital solutions directly affect user experience, stating that these elements are evaluated together in charging network investments.

Şakacı stated that in the coming period, competition between charging networks would be shaped by offering the right capacity in the right location, expanding high-speed charging options, and managing energy resources efficiently.

Elaris continues its charging network investments
Operating as an affiliate of Üçay Mühendislik, Elaris provides services in electric vehicle charging network operation as well as electric vehicle charging station sales.

Founded in 2000, Üçay Mühendislik operates in the fields of air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, solar energy systems and electric vehicle charging services. The İstanbul-based company continues its operations with 33 branches, warehouses and showrooms in 23 provinces across Türkiye.
