Sulfuric Acid Production Plant to Be Established in Siirt

Lineer Metal AŞ Honorary Chairman Prof. Dr. Yasin Aktay announced that a sulfuric acid production facility will be established in Siirt through a Turkish-Qatari partnership.

In a written statement, Yasin Aktay said that a ceremony was held between Lineer Metal AŞ and Qatari investors regarding the "Sulfuric Acid Production Facility" to be built in Siirt, and that this investment will be constructed next to the Metal Zinc Plant currently under construction in Siirt Organized Industrial Zone (OSB). "The facility will produce 132,000 tons annually and provide employment for nearly 100 people. Construction will begin in March. At the opening ceremony of the Zinc Smelting Facility, we hope you will await other good news as well. May this be beneficial for our region and our country," Aktay said, continuing: "Serious, comprehensive and sustainable development initiatives are needed to overcome youth unemployment in the Southeast. The private sector must both have faith and act with courage. My fellow investor from Siirt, Lineer Metal AŞ Board Chairman Fikret Baydarman, stands out not merely as an investor, but as an entrepreneur who believes in this vision. Together with Baydarman, we recognized that the city's most important assets and opportunities are its mineral resources, and we decided to continue advancing on this path. In this context, the Turkish-Qatari partnership 'Zinc Metal Ingot Production Facility' whose foundation was laid on 11 January 2020 and is still under construction represents a significant investment." Aktay noted that businessman Ayaz Akkoyun from Siirt has provided employment for 400 people through a call center established in the city, and conveyed that support will continue for these investments to proceed.
