Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank Visits Polifarma
Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited the manufacturing facility of 100-percent domestically-owned Polifarma Pharmaceuticals to conduct inspections and hear about projects. Varank was received by Polifarma's Board of Directors and senior management.
During the meeting, Industry Minister Mustafa Varank received presentations on Polifarma's investments and new projects. The presentations covered the world's first generic product in the nervous system medicines category, Turkey's first domestically-developed three-chamber nutritional solution, and the sole domestically-manufactured anesthesia product. Polifarma's key investments in the Rare Diseases project and products used in kidney failure treatment were discussed.
At the meeting where TÜBİTAK-approved projects developed by Polifarma were discussed, details were shared on the world's first lyophilized oral powder product developed as an alternative to tablet-form antiviral medicines used in COVID-19 treatment and currently undergoing licensing procedures.
Polifarma Board of Directors Vice Chair Vildan Kumrulu commented on the matter: "Today we discussed both our investments and our projects. We presented to the Minister the world's first and only original Molecular Synthesis Project, jointly developed with one of Japan's top 5 pharmaceutical faculties. For 34 years we have continued our work as a national and domestic company, and our goal going forward is to continue representing Turkey in the global market." she said.
