Çimsa Named Export Champion in the Sector

Sabancı Holding subsidiary Çimsa reported nine-month net sales revenue of TRY 1,632 million and net profit of TRY 139 million. Çimsa continued to contribute to Turkey's export revenues with export sales of TRY 1,019 million in the same period of 2020. Çimsa, which continues profitable growth through innovations and investments in the cement and building materials sector, achieved net sales of TRY 1,632 million in the first nine months of the year, while net profit reached TRY 139 million. Çimsa General Manager Umut Zenar, noting that the company completed the first nine months of 2020 as Turkey's leading cement exporter, continued his remarks: "Our company effectively managed its strong production and sales network during this period, significantly increasing sales and profitability performance. As of the end of September 2020, sales revenues increased by 27 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year, while operating profit more than doubled compared to the same period last year, reaching TRY 297 million. In line with the targets set at the beginning of the year, the company demonstrated its success in executing a significant portion of our country's cement sector exports. As one of Turkey's largest grey cement producers, our company is positioned among global players in the white cement sector. We have begun work on establishing a new company that will combine Sabancı Group's financial strength with Çimsa's operational capabilities under a single roof abroad, in order to achieve the holding's goal of becoming the leading player in global white cement trading."

Çimsa leads in exports again

Çimsa was ranked first in the cement sector at the 2019 Export Champions Awards ceremony organized by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Clay Products Exporters Association, based on its successful and stable export performance. Evaluating Çimsa's export success, Çimsa General Manager Umut Zenar said, "Despite the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the entire world, we achieved strong export performance in the first nine months of 2020. Behind Çimsa's success lies a strong export and logistics network. We export our white cement and specialty products to more than 65 countries, particularly in the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and the Americas."
