Applications Continue for L'Oréal Türkiye's "For Women in Science" Program

L'Oréal Turkey's "For Women in Science" programme, conducted in cooperation with UNESCO Turkey National Commission to support female researchers in science, reward excellence, and ensure recognition of young and talented female scientists, continues to accept applications. The programme, now in its 23rd year globally and 19th year in Turkey, aims to draw attention to women's contributions to science and gender equality in science, and to create role models through its established history. Since 1998, the "For Women in Science" programme, organized by L'Oréal and UNESCO in cooperation worldwide, aims to support female researchers in science, reward excellence, and ensure recognition of young and talented female scientists.

YOUNG FEMALE SCIENTISTS APPLY WITH THEIR PROJECTS

The "For Women in Science" programme, organized for the 19th time this year in Turkey, features two categories: "Life and Environmental Sciences" and "Physical Sciences". Young female scientists from Turkey can participate in the "For Women in Science" programme, which has a final application deadline of 20 February 2021. Applications for the programme, which aims to support science and female scientists, are evaluated by an independent UNESCO jury. Upon the completion of the competition by the jury, each of the 4 selected female scientists receives TRY 120,000 in project support from L'Oréal Turkey, providing important assistance in bringing their projects to life.

To date, 114 young Turkish female scientists have been awarded!

L'Oréal and UNESCO have been working together for 23 years globally and 19 years in Turkey to help more female scientists achieve scientific excellence and participate equally in solving major challenges facing humanity. The "For Women in Science" programme supports more than 250 young and talented female scientists each year. Distinguished female researchers from 5 continents continue their scientific careers with the support they receive through the programme and make discoveries that will help change the world. To date, 114 young Turkish female scientists have been recognized with awards for their projects under the programme.
