Composite materials, ranked among the most important components of the chemical industry, are being presented as the material of the future with their expanding applications.

GEBKİM Foundation, which has made strong school-industry cooperation a mission, places emphasis on ensuring that the teaching staff of GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School works closely with industry under this mission. GEBKİM MTAL teachers received information on composite material production processes and application areas through training programs carried out with the support and cooperation of the Composite Manufacturers Association.

GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, supported by GEBKİM Education, Research and Health Foundation, presents a model that exemplifies vocational education in our country. Priority is given to ensuring that not only students but also the management and teaching staff maintain close dialogue and cooperation with industry. The Composite Manufacturers Association, which stands out for its contributions to vocational education, recently provided support to the school for organizing training on binder materials (resins), fiberglass and carbon fiber, which are the main raw materials of composite materials.

The first of the training programs organized on the application areas of composite materials in industry, production processes, current developments and applications, which rank among the most important components of the chemical sector, was recently held at Turkuaz Polyester and Ece Boya companies operating in GEBKİM Specialized Chemicals Organized Industrial Zone. Following the training on binder materials (resins), one of the two main raw materials of composite materials, fiberglass training, the largest group of reinforcement raw materials, was held at Şişecam's Science Technology and Design Center in Çayırova, one of Europe's largest producers.

GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Director Hakan Çelik and GEBKİM MTAL teachers attended the training, where Şişecam officials provided valuable information on fiberglass production and the use of this material in the sector.

In the coming days, a third training session on carbon fiber production, another important material of composites, is planned to be delivered online.

GEBKİM Foundation Board Chair Vefa İbrahim Aracı said that GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, which is ambitious about training the "sought-after" personnel for the chemical sector through quality vocational education, has demonstrated its difference in a short time and achieved successful results.

Vefa İbrahim Aracı noted that the GEBKİM Foundation Management devoted to education, GEBKİM Specialized Chemicals Organized Industrial Zone companies, and respected non-governmental organizations with which they share common goals also play a significant role in this success, and stated the following: "The management and teaching staff of our GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and our students are truly dedicated to their work. As GEBKİM Foundation, we continue to support our school at all times. Our vision and goals are ambitious. In order to truly realize school-industry cooperation, we work in close collaboration with our companies and valued non-governmental organizations in our sector. The composite training we have carried out with the support of the Composite Manufacturers Association is an example of this.

I extend our thanks to the Composite Manufacturers Association Management, particularly Board Chair Barış Pakiş, and to Turkuaz Polyester, Ece Boya and Şişecam companies and their officials who opened their doors to our teachers for these training programs. I also wish to express our thanks to our Kocaeli Governor Seddar Yavuz and Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of National Education Director Fehmi Rasim Çelik for their support in all matters. In the coming period, our training programs in different production branches of chemistry will continue."
