Kordsa Reaches Leadership Level in Carbon Transparency Project

Kordsa, which has been reporting to the CDP Climate Change and Water Programs since 2016, elevated both its climate change and water program scores from B to A- in the 2020 reporting period, advancing from management level to leadership level. In the 2020 reporting period when the industry average in the world and Europe was B, Kordsa, with its above-average performance, ranked in the top 20 percent among evaluated companies in managing risks related to climate change and water programs. Kordsa, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, grows through technology investments in its business segments while creating economic value for shareholders and investors, and is building a sustainable future for all stakeholders and the ecosystem in which it operates through responsible use of natural resources. To systematically monitor its efforts in this direction, Kordsa joined the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the only independent organization globally reporting companies' carbon and water-related risks, in its Climate Change and Water program reporting in 2016. Kordsa, which has incrementally increased its CDP Climate Change and Water Program scores since the year it joined, achieved an "A-" rating in both reports this year. With this rating, Kordsa ranked above the global and European average of "B" in its own industry, entered the top 20 percent, and began positioning itself at the leadership level.

Sabancı Holding Industrial Group President and Kordsa Board Chairman Cevdet Alemdar noted that this sustainability achievement by Kordsa is a source of pride for both our country and Sabancı Holding. Alemdar continued his remarks on the subject as follows:

Raising our rating to "A-" in the Carbon Disclosure Project is an indicator that we take this matter seriously. With the rating we receive above the global and European average within our own industry, and having earned the right to enter the top 20 percent, we also have a responsibility to lead our market toward the Sustainable Development Goals in our sector going forward."
