Kordsa Wins First Prize in Textile Category at 6th Private Sector R&D and Design Centers Summit

Kordsa, a Sabancı Holding affiliate, received the first-place award in the textiles category at the awards ceremony held during the 6th Private Sector R&D and Design Centers Summit. Kordsa Chief Executive Officer Ali Çalışkan received the award from Faruk Özlü, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. Kordsa, a global player in tire and construction reinforcement and composite technologies markets, participated in the 6th Private Sector R&D and Design Centers Summit held at ATO Congresium on 20-21 December 2017 under the theme "Development through R&D and Innovation." At the awards ceremony held during the summit, Kordsa received the first-place award in the textiles category according to the R&D Centers 5th Performance Index Results. Kordsa Chief Executive Officer Ali Çalışkan received the award from Faruk Özlü, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey. Regarding the award, Ali Çalışkan said: "R&D and innovation form the foundation of our approach to business. The global-scale collaborations and projects we have undertaken through our open innovation approach strengthen our title as 'Innovation Leader.' Today we have reached a position where we export technology to the world, and in the years ahead we will continue to proudly carry the name of both our company and our country on the global stage.   We are very grateful for this award, which the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology has deemed us worthy of. In addition to the award, Çalışkan was presented with a certificate for the Composite Technologies Center of Excellence, which was approved as an R&D Center by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. This center operates as Kordsa's second R&D center.
