İKMİB Briefs Members on Digital Currency
The Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB), which conducts intensive work for the development of Turkey's chemical sector, organized a "Digital Currency Information Seminar" to inform its members.
The event, held on 21 December 2017 Thursday in the Foreign Trade Complex conference hall, covered topics including what digital currencies are, how to use them, their impact on e-commerce and their future.
Approximately 150 people, including İKMİB Board Chairman Murat Akyüz and Board members, attended the "Digital Currency Information Seminar" held for İKMİB members.
At the seminar where Silicon Valley TV Producer and Technology Consultant Dinçer Karaca spoke as a speaker, information was provided about digital (crypto) currencies, bitcoin and blockchain, which have come to the fore in a rapidly developing world in the technology field, and participants' questions on the subject were answered.
İKMİB Board Chairman Murat Akyüz, who gave the opening speech of the seminar, stated that the digitalized world and smart technologies are developing day by day and bringing innovations with them.
Expressing that today we can easily accomplish tasks that previously took hours with a mobile phone in a short time, Akyüz said: "We can handle all transactions through internet banking or automatic payment orders. Let us ask ourselves:
In the past year, how many photographs we took did we print on paper and keep? Do we still have a phone directory at home? Did we prefer to keep money under the pillow rather than in a bank?
If we are answering these questions in the negative, then we have become digitalized. The digitalized world, as a result of the new generation growing up with smart technology perceiving life differently from us, constantly witnesses innovations.
Among these innovations, we are organizing today's seminar to gain information about digital currency, which has come to the fore in recent times and has reached millions of users.
I would like to thank Dinçer Karaca for providing us with information about "Digital Currency" and wish that our seminar will be beneficial for all our participants," he said.
