ISTANBUL CARBON SUMMIT
BRINGING STAKEHOLDERS TOGETHER FOR CLIMATE FINANCE
GREENHOUSE GAS LAGGARDS AND LOW-CARBON CHAMPIONS TO BE RECOGNIZED
The V. Istanbul Carbon Summit, organized by the Association for Sustainable Production and Consumption (SÜT-D) under the auspices of Istanbul Technical University on 26 April 2018, will bring together government, civil society, business, academia and youth on the leading platform of the field with a focus on "Climate Finance."
Following the Paris Climate Agreement and the One Planet Summit, the summit will present climate and carbon finance, climate change mitigation mechanisms, climate change support and financing programs, the Green Climate Fund, green bonds, carbon trading, mandatory and voluntary carbon markets through expert speakers to delegates. Industry's carbon management successes and best practices in combating climate change will be presented by chief executives of leading companies from different sectors during the "Carbon Management and Industry" session.
Thus, the current outlook and possibilities for greenhouse gas reduction and adaptation processes in energy production and access to energy, forest and land use, transport, buildings, cities, industry and applications in our country, as well as building resilience to climate change, will be discussed.
At the summit, greenhouse gas laggards and carbon reduction achievements by institutions and individuals will be honored with the "Low-Carbon Champion Award." The IV. Istanbul Carbon Summit Final Report and Presentation E-Book are available on the SÜT-D website. "Small Carbon Champions" will be the big surprise of the summit.
