IMCD Group, a leading solutions partner in the distribution and formulation of specialty chemicals and ingredients worldwide, has officially opened its new Technical Center in Istanbul. The newly established strategic hub will provide formulation development, optimization of existing products, technical consulting and applied support to customers' innovation processes.
The IMCD Turkey Technical Center, opened in Ataşehir, Istanbul, has consolidated the Food and Nutrition, Beauty and Personal Care, and Paints and Construction Laboratories, which previously operated at different locations, into a single facility with enhanced scope and technical equipment. Additionally, a Pharmaceutical Laboratory has been established within the center for the first time to further strengthen the center's technical and innovation capabilities.
The new technical center reinforces IMCD's network of more than 80 technical centers and laboratories worldwide, while also demonstrating the company's commitment to innovation and customer service.

• The new Pharmaceutical Laboratory serves the local market while functioning as a regional hub for the Middle East, Maghreb, Egypt, Kenya and South Africa. The laboratory brings together IMCD's global knowledge base with local expertise, opening the way for faster and more effective technical collaborations. Development activities encompass solid, liquid and semi-solid dosage forms, integration into active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) formulation development processes and comprehensive formulation support. This allows customers to receive support on more complex development projects. All development activities are conducted with a risk-based approach in line with internationally recognized guidelines. Analytical method development, a critical component of the product development process, is carried out according to Quality by Design (QbD) principles to ensure robustness and reproducibility.
• The Beauty and Personal Care Laboratory and Beauty Studio bring together formulation, creativity and collaboration under one roof for the development of color cosmetics, skincare, sunscreens, haircare and personal hygiene solutions. The Beauty Studio goes beyond the traditional laboratory approach, offering brands an experience focused on ideation and product development together with IMCD experts. Brands receive support in developing multi-functional and market-ready products and formulations that incorporate critical elements such as texture, sensory experience, performance and manufacturability from the start of the project, thus accelerating the process from concept to final product.
• The Food and Nutrition Applications Laboratory combines global trends with technical expertise to support manufacturers in developing innovative food and beverage solutions. Serving key segments including dairy products, bakery products, beverages, confectionery, meat and savory food applications, the laboratory focuses on optimizing taste, texture, nutritional value and functionality. The laboratory provides formulation development, pilot trials and consumer-ready prototype concepts.
• The Paints and Construction Laboratory provides technical and formulation support for decorative, industrial, protective paints, wood and floor coatings as well as ceramic adhesives, self-leveling screeds and external thermal insulation systems. By bringing together different areas of expertise under one roof, the laboratory enables formulation development, performance testing and applied validation to be carried out in accordance with end-use conditions.
Aylin Zakuto, General Manager of IMCD Turkey, highlighted the center's scale and strategic strength in the Turkish market, reflecting IMCD Group's confidence in Turkey: "The chemical industry in Turkey is among the sectors with growth potential thanks to its geographical advantage and skilled workforce.
