Aras Kargo's Fenertepe Transfer Center Becomes Operational

Processing over 100 thousand cargo items per day, the Fenertepe Transfer Center is adding approximately 20 thousand shipments per hour in capacity to Aras Kargo. Increasing its operational strength with new transfer center investments, the company is reinforcing the logistics infrastructure that will support Türkiye's trade.

Aras Kargo continues to implement the investment moves it announced as part of its multi-faceted transformation program. In this context, the Fenertepe Transfer Center, the company's first new investment in İstanbul, became operational as of October 12. The center stands out with its strategic location close to the branches it serves, major road connections, and İstanbul Airport, while expanding the company's operational network in İstanbul.

Positioned to reduce the operational density in İkitelli, the Fenertepe Transfer Center is expected to relieve operations originating from İstanbul and contribute to the more efficient execution of shipments carried out across Türkiye.

Already Third Among Transfer Centers

Having processed over 100 thousand cargo items per day since its first days of operation, the Fenertepe Transfer Center has already ranked third among Aras Kargo's transfer centers in terms of the number of shipments processed.

Of the total 12,130 square meters on which the center was established, 3,830 square meters comprises the enclosed area consisting of sorting and office spaces. The facility operates with a processing capacity of 17,850 shipments per hour during the morning shift for dispatch to the local distribution network, and 23,850 shipments per hour during the evening shift for intensive sorting and inter-line transfer operations. The center adds approximately 20 thousand shipments per hour in capacity to Aras Kargo's operations.

A Safer Process with Closed-Circuit Operation

Designed from scratch on an empty site in line with operational requirements, the facility uses a 120-chute Loop Sorter system whose integration, installation and testing processes have been completed.

In the center, which operates with a closed-circuit operation model, vehicles and trucks do not enter the enclosed operation area. Cargo is processed without being taken out to the open area outside the facility. This system is aimed at reducing the risk of loss and damage to shipments.

Timely Line Departures for Shipments Originating from İstanbul

With the commissioning of the Fenertepe Transfer Center, it is aimed to reduce the operational density in İkitelli. Thus, it is targeted to prevent delays experienced in line departures, speed up shipment processes, and increase operational quality.

Providing employment for approximately 200 people, the center also contributes to the regional economy.
