A leadership change has taken place in the Pharmaceuticals division at Bayer Türkiye. André Santiago Silva was appointed as President of the Bayer Pharmaceuticals Türkiye and Iran Country Group as of September 1, 2026.
In his new role, Silva will be responsible for Bayer's pharmaceutical operations in Türkiye. Continuing his work with a focus on science and innovation, Silva will concentrate on developing collaborations with patients, healthcare professionals, public institutions and industry stakeholders. Silva will also take on the management of Bayer's pharmaceutical operations in Iran.
Silva took over the role from Colin Tyrer, who has been managing Bayer Türkiye's Pharmaceuticals division since 2023. Tyrer, who will retire following his career at Bayer, led an important period in the development of pharmaceutical operations in Türkiye.
More than 20 years of international healthcare sector experience
André Santiago Silva, who completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in pharmacy at the University of Lisbon, has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
Throughout his career, Silva has held various roles of responsibility in Portugal, Germany and the Nordic countries, most recently serving as Bayer Country Manager for Denmark and Norway.
In that role, Silva led a significant transformation process at the company, working to develop collaborations within the healthcare ecosystem and to increase patients' access to innovative treatments.
Silva previously served at Bayer as Global Brand Director. In this position, he was responsible for developing global strategies for key products and brands.

Commenting on his new role, André Santiago Silva noted that Türkiye is one of Bayer's important markets.
