Axalta Opens New Color Experience Center
In London, at The Building Centre, Axalta officially opened its new Color Experience Centre. Architects and designers invited to the opening of the UK's first Color Experience Centre had the opportunity to explore Axalta's extensive color collection and discover the relationship between color and the five senses.
At the celebration held during the London Architecture Festival, guests experienced a series of mini sensory experiences that challenged the limits of every sense, including mysterious touch boxes and blindfolded scent-discovery activities.
Each sensory experience allowed guests to connect every feeling—taste, touch, smell, sight, or hearing—with an Axalta color sample of their choice.
The Color Experience Centre houses more than 700 powder color samples showcasing different textures, effects, and topcoat paints, and is now open Monday through Saturday.
Architectural Color Specialist and curator of the London Color Experience Centre, Dami Babalola, commented: "Color is essentially perceived through a single sense—sight. However, we wanted to show our guests that this is not the only way to see color. Our mini sensory experiences bring a completely new perspective to color by stimulating all the senses."
One of the evening's participants expressed satisfaction, saying: "The Color Experience Centre is dynamic, modern, and easily accessible. I can't wait to return."
