Axalta Continues to Strengthen Leadership Through Internal Promotions
Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. announced the appointment of Barry Snyder to Senior Vice President and President, Operations and Supply Chain, and Robert Roop to Vice President and President, Technology.
Both Dr. Snyder and Dr. Roop will strengthen Axalta's commitment to innovation and growth in their new positions. Dr. Snyder will continue to serve on Axalta's leadership team, while Dr. Roop will join the team. Both executives will report directly to Axalta CEO Robert Bryant.

Robert has become a highly strategic leader in Axalta's technology organization over the past decade. Beyond his technical expertise and strong business acumen, Robert is ideally suited to be our new President, Technology, and we will continue to focus on differentiation through the innovations our customers desire.

Dr. Snyder previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Axalta. Before joining Axalta, Dr. Snyder served as Senior Vice President, Global Research and Development and Quality, and Chief Innovation Officer at Orion Engineered Carbons. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Snyder served as Vice President, Marketing and Technology, and President, Technology at H.B. Fuller Company, where he managed 15 laboratories across four continents. Between 2007 and 2008, he served as Global Technology Director in Celanese's emulsion and polyvinyl alcohol department. Dr. Snyder worked at Rohm and Haas from 1990 to 2006 in roles of increasing scope and responsibility. Dr. Snyder holds a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Harvard University, a bachelor's degree from Temple University, and a master's degree in chemistry from Emory University. Dr. Roop has been with Axalta since 2013, expanding his areas of responsibility within the technology organization. He joined Axalta as North America Technology Director and most recently served as Vice President, Automotive Refinish and Industrial Coatings Technology Development. Prior to these positions, Dr. Roop spent more than twenty years in technology and operations roles across various polymer and chemical business units at DuPont, including DuPont Performance Coatings. Dr. Roop holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University.Advertisement
