With its Maxxen Enerji Depolama systems factory set to begin production in the second quarter of 2025, the company plans to direct 70% of its output to exports, aiming to reach an annual production capacity of over 10,000 MWh and USD 1 billion in revenue within the next 5 years.
Kontek Enerji continues to strengthen its position in the global market through 30 years of sector experience and an innovation-focused approach. With the Maxxen Energy Storage Systems manufacturing plant scheduled to begin production in the second quarter of 2025, the company plans to direct 70% of production to exports; within the next 5 years, it aims to achieve annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 MWh and reach revenue of USD 1 billion.
Kontek Enerji, which stands out in the energy sector with sustainable and innovative solutions, is taking decisive steps towards globalization with its 30 years of experience. The company aims to establish new standards in energy storage technologies through its new investment, the Maxxen Energy Storage Systems plant, and to add value to the sector. Moving forward with steady progress towards its zero-carbon target, Kontek aims to become an active player in international markets with solutions based on digitalization and innovation.
Kontek Group CEO and Chairman of the Board Tolga Murat Özdemir, expressing pride in completing its 30th year, stated: "As Kontek Enerji, for the full 30 years we have succeeded in being pioneers in the sector by offering innovative solutions, leading in areas such as energy efficiency, automation, solar EPC/investment, and operations maintenance. 2024 was a period when we took strategic steps towards our globalization targets, strengthened our corporate structure, and accelerated our growth through sustainability-focused projects. With our Maxxen Energy Storage Systems manufacturing plant coming on stream in May, we aim to maintain our pioneer position in energy storage while adding value to the sector through our R&D investments."
"Our target is to reach USD 1 billion in revenue within 5 years"
Tolga Murat Özdemir emphasized that they will begin trial production at the Maxxen Energy Storage Systems plant in May 2025 and that their goal is to export 70% of the products they produce. Noting that their target for Maxxen is to reach USD 1 billion in revenue and production capacity of 10,000 MWh plus within 5 years, Özdemir stated: "Our main market will be the European storage sector, but we will also operate in nearby geographies and Latin American countries."
"We aim for sustainable production with LEED certification"
In 2025, Kontek Enerji will take steps under the leadership of the ESG Committee (Environmental, Social, Governance) that will contribute to sector development. Noting that the plant, located in Aydın, was designed in line with sustainability targets, Özdemir stated: "Our plant will be a facility with LEED certification, representing the highest level of environmental standards. During the production process, we aim to minimize carbon emissions by sourcing the energy used in battery charging and discharging from clean energy sources. We plan to obtain our LEED certification in June."
"Energy storage systems will reach every sector"
Drawing attention to plans to expand the product range of energy storage solutions, Özdemir noted that production portfolios are not limited only to grid-scale and cabinet-type industrial battery systems, stating: "In our plant, we will also develop integrated storage solutions for electric vehicle charging systems."
Pointing out that they will also develop energy storage systems for the marine sector, Özdemir stated: "Vessels transitioning to electric motors will create a need for energy storage. We have the capacity to provide adaptive solutions quickly and flexibly to these needs. Furthermore, we will support our products with digital platforms. Our end-to-end solutions in the storage sector, combined with our identity as a manufacturer, create high added value."
"Sales volume of energy storage systems is growing very rapidly"
Emphasizing that energy storage is important for virtually every sector today and will find its place in every area in the future, Özdemir stated: "While electric vehicle sales increase year by year, the sales volume of energy storage systems is growing much faster. These technologies also eliminate dependence on the grid. For example, in organized industrial zones, capacity can no longer be supplied to industrialists from transformers. At this point, energy storage systems come into play and provide solutions.
Additionally, COP 28 made commitments to triple renewable energy sources by 2030. Similar commitments were reiterated at COP 29. In this context, as Turkey, we must implement the Climate Change Law as soon as possible. We must also remember that energy storage technologies play a critical role in achieving these targets."
"We are proud to celebrate our 30th year!"
Referencing the importance of 2025 in terms of the company's targets and strategies, Özdemir stated: "As Kontek Enerji, we are accelerating the energy transformation with our innovative solutions that set direction for the sector and are moving forward with determination towards building a sustainable world of the future. With our team growing and strengthening every day, we continue to make a difference in the energy sector and work for a better tomorrow. This year, we are proud to celebrate our 30th year! With our 30 years of experience, our innovation-focused approach, and our sustainability vision, we are moving forward towards greater goals on the global stage. With the strength and accumulated knowledge we have gained from the past, we are building a more sustainable world for tomorrow together. Because we know that going beyond energy is possible together!"
