Kimpur's Head Office Receives Gold Certificate for "DUYARLI OL!" Project

Kimpur has taken another step on its sustainability journey.

Kimpur's headquarters office has been awarded the Gold Level Certificate in recognition of its environmental responsibility and innovative approaches within the scope of the "BE AWARE!" integrated environmental management and internal communication project, conducted by the Business World and Sustainable Development Association (SKD Turkey).

Kimpur places environmental sustainability at the centre of its business processes, taking responsibility for both today's and tomorrow's world. The "BE AWARE!" project aims to fundamentally embed a sustainability culture in the business world by combining environmental management systems and internal communication strategies. Implemented under the leadership of SKD Turkey, this project enables companies to reduce their environmental impact through improvements made in office environments and increase employee awareness on the matter. The Gold certificate is awarded to institutions that meet all targets set under the headings of governance, sustainable procurement, energy management, water management and waste management contained in the system. Kimpur's excellent performance in this project was rewarded with the Gold Level Certificate, demonstrating the company's commitment to environmental responsibility, and making Kimpur one of four companies in Turkey to receive this certificate.

One Step Further in Sustainable Consumption and Corporate Consciousness

Within the scope of the BE AWARE project, which promotes sustainable consumption habits in the business world, Kimpur implemented various environmental improvements at its headquarters office. For this purpose, automation systems were installed at the headquarters office to reduce energy consumption, and awareness activities were conducted to increase waste separation and recycling rates. Additionally, water-saving technologies and methods aimed at reducing water consumption were applied. To increase employee environmental awareness, environmental improvement tips were posted inside the office and shared through regular email newsletters. Various workshops were conducted with relevant departments, particularly the Procurement department, to ensure they adopt sustainable procurement principles.

The Gold Certificate presentation ceremony took place at Kimpur's headquarters office in Ümraniye. At the ceremony, SKD Turkey General Secretary Konca Çalkıvik presented the Gold Certificate to Kimpur CEO Cavidan Karaca. Karaca, expressing happiness at receiving such an award for their commitment to sustainability, said: "While determining our 2030 Climate Change Roadmap in line with our sustainability targets, the BE AWARE! project served as an important guide to us. It enabled us to further develop the structure in our office, which holds LEED certification.

Strengthening the sustainability culture within an institution is possible not only by adopting environmentally friendly practices, but also by instilling this culture in all our employees. Within the scope of the 'BE AWARE!' project, the steps we have taken in reducing resource consumption, optimizing recycling processes and integrating sustainable procurement strategies contribute both to reducing our company's environmental impact and to the development of our employees as conscious individuals. The Gold level certificate we received in this process is not just an award, but also important feedback on the steps we have taken on the sustainability journey and the efforts we have made.
