Karaca Publishes 2024 Sustainability Report
Karaca Group continues to add value both to its industry and to society with the value-added products and services it has offered in home living categories for 52 years. The brand has published its second GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)-compliant sustainability report, covering activities carried out under its "Adding Value Is in Our Nature" approach, which reflects its stance on environmental, social and governance matters.

The brand published its second GRI (Global Reporting Standard) aligned sustainability report, reflecting its approach to environmental, social and governance matters under the philosophy "Adding Value Is Our Nature," encompassing its activities in this regard.
Since its establishment, Karaca has led the sector with its innovation-focused approach, and continues to draw attention to areas such as Energy Efficiency in Stores, Equal Opportunity and Sustainable Retail through its 2024 Sustainability Report. Sustainability holds an important place at the center of Karaca's products and production processes. Renewable energy-powered production and long-life product design form the foundation of this approach.
Within the scope of its Sustainable Growth Strategy; Karaca aims to provide sustainable products and services, achieve inclusive growth by reaching different consumer groups, and act together with business partners, employees and Karaca enthusiasts.
Twelve Percent of Karaca Logistics Center Investment Allocated to Sustainability Initiatives
Karaca demonstrates its environmental sensitivity through concrete steps by allocating 12% of its new Logistics Center investment to sustainability activities. This mega warehouse, established in Hadımköy over an area of 120,000 m², was positioned as the company's central logistics hub and laid the foundation for a significant transformation in logistics processes.
Sustainable Retail
Karaca Grup continues to create differentiation in the sector as one of the pioneer brands that developed and implemented the sustainable store concept in Turkey. While all sheet and metal components used in store designs are selected from secondhand products, LED bulbs are preferred in lighting systems. All painting operations are carried out with water-based paints. By transitioning to a decentralized distribution and service network structure, a significant step was taken towards reducing carbon emissions from logistics, while all shopping carts were renewed with 100% recyclable materials and store furniture that completed its service life are recycled. As of 2024, 7 Container Store concept stores continue to operate throughout Turkey.
Energy Efficiency in Stores
Karaca places issues related to energy consumption at the core focus of its sustainability targets. It develops projects to use energy efficiently and increases areas of renewable energy use. Within the scope of these initiatives, particularly with the decision to transition to cloud-based energy monitoring technologies in stores in order to track uncertain consumption from shopping centers on an hourly basis, 10 stores achieved 40% energy efficiency during non-working periods. As of the first month of 2025, the company implemented this project in all stores in Turkey.
Women in Sales and Equal Opportunity
With its "Karaca Makes an Impact with Women in Sales" project, Karaca offers career opportunities to women aged 35 and over in their second professional chapter across all stores throughout Turkey. Female candidates with corporate work experience who wish to return to active working life have the opportunity to work full-time and part-time in Karaca stores. As of 2024, women make up 54% of Karaca's workforce. This ratio demonstrates the importance given to female employment and the company's commitment to supporting gender equality at the corporate level. Additionally, 42% of managers are women.
Regarding 2024 sustainability initiatives, Karaca Board of Directors Chairman Fatih Karaca said: "We act with the awareness that sustainability has become a necessity rather than a choice; we proceed with this responsibility in all our products and operations. This year's focus included our energy transition and product-based sustainability developments. While advancing resolutely toward our goal of carrying out all our operational processes with renewable energy by 2030, we implemented projects centered on energy efficiency. We embrace sustainability as a principle not merely as a strategy, but as a value inherent in our company's nature, and we conduct our work in this direction."
