Turkish Food Industry Maintains $160 Billion Sector Volume in 2025

The Turkish Food Industry Employers' Association (TUGIS) shared updated data on food industry performance for 2025. According to the statement, the sector managed to maintain its USD 160 billion domestic market volume despite global economic uncertainties and rising logistics costs.
TUGIS Managing Director Kaan Sidar stated that the strategic importance of the food industry for Turkey's economy continues, saying, "Our export figures reached USD 29 billion in 2025. The food sector ranks among Turkey's strong sectors in terms of both employment and value creation."
Sidar emphasized that TUGIS's representation capacity has increased significantly in recent periods, noting that they effectively conveyed the sector's expectations and problems on national and international platforms. The institution's priorities for the new period were stated to be sustainability, food safety, export capability, and increased competitiveness.
TUGIS aims to increase cooperation with sector stakeholders in 2026 and to achieve a stronger position for Turkey in food industry exports.
