Puratos, the global leader in its field through quality products and solutions it provides to the baking, pastry and chocolate sectors, has taken action towards sustainable packaging use. Bora Akın, General Director Turkey of Puratos, stated that as a responsible food company they are aware of the importance of minimizing environmental impact and have made the transition to sustainable packaging a priority in line with this objective. We are focused on reducing the environmental footprint left by our products and our organization in general for a better and more sustainable future."

Recyclable Packaging

Noting that sustainable packaging is at the center of its sustainability efforts, the company aims to make packaging materials reusable or recyclable by the end of 2025 in order to minimize its environmental footprint. The company anticipates that packaging materials produced with uniform design, unbleached paper and single-color printing in the transition to sustainable packaging will have benefits including up to 70 percent less ink use, energy consumption and waste.

Zero waste target by 2030

Regarding its commitments for a better world, Puratos is also working towards broader improvements such as reduced chemical use and energy consumption through more sustainable production processes. Rapidly progressing towards the goal of becoming carbon neutral by the end of 2025 in all its operations, the company aims to create minimum impact on the world by committing to reach certain clear and net sustainability targets by 2030 such as responsible supply chain, water balance and zero waste.
