CHEP Enhances Safety and Efficiency with Protective Inner Profile Designs

CHEP, the world leader in reusable packaging solutions, ensures the damage-free transport of sensitive and fragile parts with its protective inner profile designs. At the same time, these profiles minimize the use of unnecessary filling materials and, when produced from recyclable and reusable materials, contribute to reducing the carbon footprint.

CHEP, a global leader in reusable packaging solutions, ensures damage-free transport of sensitive and fragile parts through protective interior profile designs. At the same time, these profiles minimize the use of unnecessary filling materials and, when produced from recyclable and reusable materials, contribute to reducing carbon footprint.

The automotive sector faces new challenges during the transition to vehicles powered by alternative fuels. In particular, sensitive, expensive and fragile parts require innovative approaches beyond standard packaging solutions. This situation is directing companies seeking sustainable and long-term supply chain strategies toward new approaches.

Commenting on new solutions needed in the automotive supply chain, CHEP Director for Central and Eastern Europe Funda Şimşirel said: "In a sector such as automotive where sensitive and complex components are transported, the use of protective interior profiles in addition to external packaging is of great importance. When automotive parts are not adequately protected during transport, both financial losses and environmental impacts increase. Especially for fragile and expensive parts such as batteries and hydrogen fuel cells used in next-generation electric vehicles, more specialized solutions are needed."

"Storage areas can be used more efficiently"
Commenting on the packaging design solutions they provide, Şimşirel said: "Experts point out that the use of protective interior profiles not only protects products but also increases the efficiency of logistics operations. Our customer-specific interior profile designs prevent products from moving during shipment, minimizing damage risk and providing significant cost savings.

At the same time, by increasing the quantity of products transported per shipment, it helps make transport and storage areas more efficient," he said. Noting that reducing packaging waste is one of the fastest ways to reduce carbon footprint in the automotive sector, Şimşirel stated: "The use of these profiles minimizes unnecessary filling material while providing an environmentally friendly option when produced from recyclable and reusable materials."

"Customer satisfaction increases while providing companies with competitive advantage"
Emphasizing that on-time and damage-free delivery in the supply chain is of great importance for customer satisfaction, Şimşirel said: "In the automotive sector, for building trust and loyalty, products reaching customers in perfect condition is a critical factor. The use of protective interior profiles ensures that parts are transported smoothly and safely, creating a seamless process in the supply chain. These solutions, which offer advantages such as environmental sustainability, cost savings and increased customer satisfaction, are of great importance for companies seeking to gain competitive advantage in the sector."
