29 Companies Join Forces in the Natural Stone Sector

The Aegean Natural Stone Exporters Association, leader in natural stone exports from Turkey, has launched the "Sustainability-Focused International Marketing" URGE Project with the participation of 29 companies, aiming to increase annual natural stone exports to USD 1 billion. 

Aegean Natural Stone Exporters Association Chairman İbrahim Alimoğlu stated that the companies aim to strengthen their competitive position and export capabilities in international markets through clustering. He emphasized that the URGE Project, which receives 75% support from the Ministry of Trade, is designed to generate positive benefits for companies in terms of cost and competitiveness, targeting a sustainable marketing strategy. 

Turkish natural stones to be marketed in 10 countries through URGE Project
Alimoğlu noted that the "Sustainability-Focused International Marketing" URGE Project will be the fourth URGE Project implemented by the Aegean Natural Stone Exporters Association to date. He stated: "With each URGE project, we enhance the capabilities of our member companies. Under this project scope, a green transition-focused roadmap will be created for participating companies. Accordingly, training and consulting services will be provided for identified needs. We will commence training activities as of August. Target countries for international marketing activities have been planned as Saudi Arabia, the United States, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Brazil, Nigeria, China and Russia. We will market Turkish natural stones, which feature 150 design and 650 color varieties, in 11 countries under the URGE Project scope, and upon completion of our URGE Project we will reach our goal of USD 1 billion in exports." 

Turkey increased natural stone exports by 4% in the January–June 2025 period, from USD 895 million to USD 931 million, while the Aegean Natural Stone Exporters Association's natural stone exports rose by 11% from USD 329 million to USD 364 million. To further boost natural stone exports to over USD 1 billion in the medium term, the Aegean Natural Stone Exporters Association, alongside URGE Projects, is organizing Turkey's official participation at the Xiamen Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, conducting sectoral trade missions and buyer delegations, and is working to advance the industry's design capacity through the AMORF Natural Stone Design and Production Competition.
