Turkey's Largest Agriculture-Based Specialized Industrial Zone Awaits Investors
Will increase annual fresh fruit and vegetable production in the Aegean Region by 80,000 tonnes, create employment for 3,500 people, and conduct production using renewable geothermal energy.
Turkey's largest agriculture-based specialized organized industrial zone, Dikili Agriculture-Based Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, is awaiting investors.
Dikili Agriculture-Based Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, a green OIZ initiative that supplies all its energy from renewable sources within its own facilities, will be Europe and Turkey's largest soilless, fully automated modern greenhouse and agricultural industrial cluster using renewable energy sources for heating. Water management will be provided through a wastewater treatment facility. All waste will be recovered. Dikili Agriculture-Based Specialized Organized Industrial Zone was presented to members of Aegean Exporters Unions. Uçak: "Dikili ABSOIZ will enable employment for 3,500 people" Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Union Chairman Hayrettin Uçak met with the project investor and parcel sales have commenced. Investors will be able to make investments as greenhouse parcels and industrial parcels. Within the scope of the project, 80,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetable production is planned. I believe this project will have positive contributions to the fruit variety and quality in our country. In 2020, we reached agricultural product exports of USD 5.1 billion, of which USD 1.04 billion comprised fresh fruits and vegetables and processed fruit and vegetable products. Through Dikili ABSOIZ and subsequently established agricultural organized industrial zones in our region, we aim to increase our agricultural product exports to USD 10 billion," he stated. Celep: "We will emerge from difficult times through production" Aegean Dried Fruit and Processed Products Exporters Union Chairman Birol Celep, sharing the information that investment perception in organized industrial zones is newly developing in Turkey's agricultural sectors, stated: "As an investor and exporter, we are going through difficult times, but we know this reality very well – we must produce. As long as we produce, our economy will strengthen. We thank the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for supporting us in these difficulties. We invite our companies engaged in agriculture-based production to invest in Dikili ABSOIZ," he said.Waste management area
The management of Dikili Agriculture-Based Specialized Organized Industrial Zone will be handled centrally. In the area comprising 8 percent of the zone size as shared-use space; administrative, social and technical infrastructure areas, treatment facility area, and active green spaces and roads are planned. An area of 9.6 percent has been designated as industrial area for sorting, packaging, processing and storing the products produced in the zone. The zone will include greenhouse islands, industrial islands, training and research area, administrative and social facility area, park area, and waste management area. Dikili ABSOIZ, the first OIZ established in İzmir with broad participation, is one of the finest examples of collaborative business culture. Founding partners of Dikili ABSOIZ include the İzmir Chamber of Commerce, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, İzmir Chamber of Commerce and Commodity Exchange, Aegean Exporters Unions, Bergama Chamber of Commerce, the Office of the Governor of İzmir, and Dikili Municipality.Advertisement
