"The pandemic has reminded us once again of the importance of sustainability"
Tüpraş General Manager İbrahim Yelmenoğlu said, "The pandemic that has gripped the world for some time reminds us that we need to place sustainability perspectives higher on our agenda, both institutionally and individually." Addressing Tüpraş's sustainability approach, Yelmenoğlu stated, "With our sustainability-based production policies and corporate responsibility understanding, despite the difficult period the world is experiencing, as a company that continues to meet our country's energy needs uninterrupted; since 2008 we place the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at the center of our sustainability approach, which we continue to develop with this awareness. While continuing our operations uninterrupted under all circumstances, we are working to integrate sustainability across all our processes, from our supply chain to our post-sales operations." Noting that Tüpraş continuously works to develop safe working environments for its employees, whom it sees as its most valuable capital in every period, and to nurture the qualified workforce of the future, Yelmenoğlu shared the following information about the company's work on equal opportunity: "In a sector long considered male-dominated like refining, we have long been a supporter and monitor of creating an egalitarian and inclusive work environment.
