Grant Support for Green Transformation
ANKARA (AA)—Young entrepreneurs developing green transformation projects within the scope of combating climate change are being provided with TRY 200,000 in grant support to contribute to Turkey's economic and industrial green transformation.
According to information obtained by AA correspondent, the TÜBİTAK Individual Young Enterprise Programme (BİGG) provides 100 percent non-refundable (grant) support for calls opened for projects containing "technological R&D and innovation."
Within this scope, the BİGG Green Growth Call was launched with the aim of combating climate change and contributing to Turkey's economic and industrial green transformation.
The call in question will be implemented under the BİGG GARAJ Entrepreneurship Support Programme through cooperation between TOBB ETÜ, Hacettepe Technopark Technology Transfer Center (TTM) and Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO).
Initial thematic applications for TÜBİTAK grant support in the amount of TRY 200,000 have begun to be accepted under the programme.
Under the BİGG GARAJ Entrepreneurship Support Programme, technology-based entrepreneurship training, business plan development, project proposal writing training and all mentoring support will be provided free of charge.
Projects ranging from intelligent transport to sustainable agriculture are being supported
The project includes thematic areas such as "Climate Change, Environment and Biodiversity," "Studies Contributing to the Purpose of Regulating Carbon Emissions and Greenhouse Gas Emissions," "Clean and Circular Economy," "Clean, Accessible and Secure Energy Supply," "Green and Sustainable Agriculture," "Sustainable Agriculture from Farm to Table," and "Sustainable Intelligent Transport." Applicants must be students or graduates enrolled in any associate degree, bachelor's, master's or doctoral programme, must not have previously received support under the Ministry of Industry and Technology Techno-entrepreneurship Capital Support or TÜBİTAK 1512 Programme Phase 2, and must not be part of the partnership structure of any enterprise as of the preliminary application date. Young entrepreneurs who wish to implement their technology-based and innovation-containing projects and establish their own company with TRY 200,000 in 100 percent non-refundable (grant) support can access the necessary conditions and information for application at "https://etugaraj.org/". Final applications under the programme may be submitted until 15 October. Since 2015, under the TÜBİTAK BİGG Programme, 800 people in 20 provinces participated in entrepreneurship training, and 450 entrepreneurs participated in mentoring support. Among the participants, 71 teams were eligible to receive TRY 11.3 million in non-refundable grant support to realize their business ideas.Advertisement
