TİM Chair Mustafa Gültepe Awards Diplomas to Graduates Emphasizing that educated workforce is essential for sustainable exports, TİM Chair Mustafa Gültepe stated: "We have delivered some of the most successful examples of industry-school cooperation in vocational education. I will use the experience and knowledge we have gained in vocational education in my new role as TİM Chair to advance all our sectors." Graduation celebrations took place at İHKİB protocol schools, which are among the most successful examples of public-private cooperation in vocational education. Diplomas were awarded to 400 students who completed their education and earned graduation at a ceremony attended by Turkish Exporters Council (TİM) Chair Mustafa Gültepe. Mustafa Gültepe, who also serves as Chair of Istanbul Ready-Made Garments and Apparel Exporters Association (İHKİB), emphasized in his address at the ceremony that an educated, equipped and visionary workforce is essential for sustainable exports. Recalling their support for education at all levels based on this reality, Gültepe continued: "We expanded our cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, which began in 1997, in the form of a protocol we signed in 2016 to cover five high schools. Through vocational high schools providing ready-made garment education that we support under this protocol, we have graduated over 8,000 young people. A large portion of our graduates, whose numbers increased by 400 today, work with us in the sector they became familiar with during their student years, produce and create added value. We do not merely provide our students with standard education. We also organize activities to increase the perception and awareness of vocational education, to contribute to the personal and professional development of our young people, and to enable them to translate their innovative ideas into practice. In 2018, we started with Skills Competition at our vocational high schools, and continued with Innovation Idea Marathon during the pandemic period. We launched the İHKİB Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition for our universities. Through the 'My Choice is Textile Engineering' project we conduct with the Higher Education Council and our exporter associations, we have restored the reputation of this department. In short, we have delivered some of the most successful examples of industry-school cooperation in vocational education. I will use the experience and knowledge we have gained in vocational education in my new role as TİM Chair to advance all our sectors."
