ChCSIB Presents Şişecam with Export Awards in 4 Categories

Şişecam named champion in 4 export categories. Şişecam received awards in 4 categories at the "Export Champions Awards Ceremony" held by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Earth Products Exporters Association (ÇCSİB). A global player in chemicals encompassing soda and chromium compounds beyond the glass industry, Şişecam was recognized in 4 categories at the "Export Champions Awards Ceremony" held by the Cement, Glass, Ceramics and Earth Products Exporters Association (ÇCSİB), which was held for the third time this year. At the ceremony honoring exporters for 2020, Şişecam received recognition as the "company with the highest exports in the flat glass category," "company with the highest exports in the household glassware category," and "company with the highest exports in the glass packaging category." Additionally, the company won the award as "company with the highest increase in glass packaging exports." At the ceremony, the awards were presented to Şişecam by Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Ebru Şapoğlu on behalf of Şişecam, as well as by Deputy Minister of Trade Rıza Tuna Turagay, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, Cement Glass Ceramics and Earth Products Exporters Association Chairman Erdem Çenesiz, and Cement Glass Ceramics and Earth Products Exporters Association Vice Chairman Tansu Kumru.

Şişecam gaining value in many areas

In a statement, it was noted that Şişecam, which creates value through its investments in Turkey and supports the growth of locomotive sectors while contributing to employment, has recently announced successive investments to be implemented in Turkey. In November, Şişecam commissioned its 240,000-ton furnace in Yenişehir after completing the cold repair process and upgrading it according to the latest technologies, thereby completing the cold repair processes in all its furnaces and reaching a global float production capacity of 3.5 million tons. Last year, Şişecam realized its investment in Polatlı, one of Europe's largest flat glass production bases, and this year announced good news of a new TRY 4 billion investment in flat glass and automotive glass in Turkey. In early November, Şişecam also announced that it would make a TRY 1 billion investment in Eskişehir for a new furnace in the glass packaging sector with a capacity of 155,000 tons. According to information obtained, Şişecam is today a global player in all fundamental areas of glass such as flat glass, household glassware, glass packaging and glass fiber, as well as in business lines encompassing soda and chromium compounds, and plays a leading role in the automotive, mining, energy and recycling sectors. Among the world's largest 2 producers in household glassware and among the largest 5 in glass packaging and flat glass, Şişecam is the world's 8th largest soda producer and holds the global leading position in chromium chemicals. A global player with production activities spread across 14 countries on 4 continents and sales exceeding 150 countries, Şişecam's 9-month consolidated net sales reached TRY 21 billion.
