Şişecam receives Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate

Şişecam received a Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate from the Ministry of Industry and Technology for its energy glass processing line investment in Mersin. Şişecam has been granted a Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate from the Ministry of Industry and Technology for its ongoing energy glass processing investment in Mersin. With this investment, Şişecam aims to curtail approximately EUR 150 million in annual energy glass imports. Şişecam will benefit from this incentive for a production line capable of processing 26.6 million square meters of energy glass annually. The company will address potential supply gaps in the energy glass market while capitalizing on export opportunities and contributing to the national economy. Through this ongoing investment, Şişecam will also strengthen its dominant position in the glass sector.

Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate aims to reduce current account deficit

The Strategic Investment Incentive Certificate, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Technology over the past year to companies that have imported over USD 50 million and are investing in high value-added products where domestic production capacity is below import levels, targets a reduction in the current account deficit. Support measures include VAT exemption, customs duty waiver, employer social insurance premium support and tax reduction for eligible companies.
