Şişecam to Manage All Logistics Operations from Single Center in Mersin Şişecam has taken a strategic step to ensure centralized and integrated management of all glass-related logistics operations from a single center in Mersin. The Şişecam Mersin Logistics Center, located in Mersin and managed by Arkas Lojistik, was inaugurated with the participation of Şişecam Chief Executive Officer Görkem Elverici, Şişecam Supply Chain Deputy General Manager Dr. Selma Öner, Arkas Holding Board Vice Chairman & Arkas Lojistik Services Group Chairman Diane Arcas Göçmez, Arkas Lojistik Executive Board Chairman Onur Göçmez and Arkas Lojistik Chief Executive Officer Serhat Kurtuluş. Through the Şişecam Mersin Logistics Center, operations managed across a total of 105,000 square meters of enclosed space will handle exports of flat glass, glass containers and glassware products to more than 70 countries across 5 continents. Together with new warehouse investments under construction and to be launched at the center, the aim is to increase the total enclosed storage area to 155,000 square meters. From the Şişecam Mersin Logistics Center, glass container operations are planned to ship 1,000 different products to 40 countries, while flat glass operations will deliver approximately 700 products to 50 countries. In the glassware segment, the target is to reach approximately 250 different products to close to 30 countries. The Şişecam Mersin Logistics Center, which will handle approximately 2,000 vehicles monthly, will have its supply, logistics and security processes managed by Arkas Lojistik with a team of 120 people.
