Organized Industrial Zones Will Be Better Prepared for Natural Disasters

Speaking at the protocol signing ceremony, OSBÜK Chairman Memiş Kütükcü said that AFAD, which responds immediately to natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires and floods, has become a source of pride for Turkey, and that OSBÜK is ready to cooperate with AFAD in all matters. OSBÜK Chairman Memiş Kütükcü stated, "The consequences of disasters such as earthquakes, floods and fires not only cause loss of life, but also directly negatively affect the commercial activities of our enterprises, the income of our people and the growth of our country.

Therefore, it is essential that we prepare our enterprises and SMEs for disasters and create a structure that is less affected by them. We aim that with the protocol we will sign with AFAD, to better prepare our 353 organized industrial zones in 81 provinces, our 67 thousand industrial facilities and our more than 2 million employees for these disasters," he said.

Kütükcü emphasized that ensuring sustainable production in organized industrial zones is also important in terms of economic security, and noted that industrial zones, in addition to industrial production, contribute to the country's development through vocational high schools, technology development zones and other investments. Kütükcü continued: "This strong and productive structure does not actually just engage in industrial production. We contribute to education with our vocational high schools in our industrial zones. Our Technology Development Zones, our Research and Development and Design Centers increase our country's technology and innovation capacity. With our renewable energy plants, we strengthen our country's clean energy capacity and support closing our energy deficit. With our planned structures, quality infrastructure, treatment facilities and green areas, we are leading Turkish industry with an industrial understanding that can adapt most rapidly to the green production path that the world is entering," he said.           Source: DHA
