Nippon Paint - Betek Brings Industry Stakeholders Together in İzmir

Nippon Paint - Betek, a leading player in the sector, held the second meeting of its "Agenda Conversations with Filli Paint" initiative in Izmir to strengthen sectoral dialogue with stakeholders. The meeting covered assessments from expectations for a new period in the real estate sector to energy efficiency in buildings from a broad perspective.

The event bringing together representatives from the region's construction and real estate sectors addressed both local market dynamics and Turkey's potential as a production hub.

Hasan Gökhan Güner, General Manager of Nippon Paint - Betek Turkey, drew attention to economic indicators, stating that a new period of activity is expected in the real estate sector. Güner noted that the transformation in global supply chains presents significant opportunities for Turkey, adding that the company has accelerated its investments in this direction.

Güner stated that the company doubled its capacity with a fully automated water-based paint manufacturing facility that came online in Gebze in November 2025, emphasizing that this investment supports Turkey's goal of becoming a regional production center.

The meeting also noted that following Nippon Paint - Betek's integration into the Nippon Paint Group in 2019, the company has combined global expertise with local experience. It was highlighted that the company maintains a strong position in the sector with the Filli Paint brand.

Sustainability and innovation were also key topics at the event. New technologies developed in exterior facade paints were presented, featuring resistance to climate conditions and long-lasting performance properties. It was also emphasized that low-VOC environmentally friendly products improve health standards in living spaces.

One of the important agenda items of the meeting was the update to TS 825 "Heat Insulation Rules in Buildings" standard. With the new regulation, climate zones in Turkey have been increased from 4 to 6, with insulation requirements particularly raised in hot zones. This change was noted as bringing energy efficiency approaches to a more comprehensive structure.

The meeting held in Izmir took place in an interactive environment with contributions from important figures in the business world, and it was announced that the "Agenda Conversations" series will continue in different cities across Turkey.
