Lummus Boosts Tire Recycling Technology with Investment in InnoVent Renewables

Lummus Technology, a global provider of process technologies and value-driven energy solutions, announced a strategic investment in InnoVent Renewables that will accelerate the commercialization of the company's proprietary tire recycling technology.

"Our collaboration has already demonstrated strong technical and commercial synergies, and this investment will accelerate global adoption of a proven recycling solution."
An estimated one billion tires end up in landfills annually. To address this, InnoVent's technology offers a scalable, end-to-end solution that converts end-of-life tires from preprocessing to purification into high-value products such as tire pyrolysis oil, recovered carbon black, pyrolysis gas and steel.

In 2025, Lummus and InnoVent established their initial partnership, with Lummus serving as the exclusive global licensor of InnoVent's tire pyrolysis technology. Lummus is also leveraging its comprehensive licensing network, advanced process technologies and engineering expertise to commercialise the technology at global scale.
InnoVent currently operates a commercial facility in Monterrey, Mexico that can process up to one million passenger vehicle tires annually. Lummus' investment will help increase production capacity at the facility and improve the commercial viability of the technology.
