Specialty chemicals company Lanxess is raising prices for inorganic pigments globally, subject to existing contracts, effective immediately. The price adjustment will amount to EUR 140 per metric ton for iron oxide pigments and EUR 280 per metric ton for chromium oxide pigments (or equivalent in local currency). Individual customer contact will be made regarding details of the price increase applicable to their products or regions. Lanxess's Inorganic Pigments business unit is among the world's largest synthetic iron oxide producers and a leading inorganic chromium oxide manufacturer. These products have a history dating back decades as colorants for construction materials, paints and paint raw materials, plastics and paper, as specialty pigments for toners and numerous other applications. The products are marketed under the trade names Bayferrox, Bayoxide and Colortherm. These high-tinting-strength inorganic pigments are produced according to strict sustainability criteria.
