Reliable Product Summit Awards Find Their Recipients

At the Reliable Product Summit organized by the Reliable Product Platform, 350 different products competed in 33 different categories and winners were honored at the Feed to Future awards ceremony. Participants in the summit competition included products, companies and organizations that contributed to consumer health through successful work on product safety, supported sustainability with an innovative perspective, and took action by feeling responsible for the use of scarce resources.

33 Different Categories and 355 Products Competed at Feed to Future Awards Ceremony

A panel of 75 expert jury members evaluated 355 different products across 33 different categories. Following these evaluations, the Feed to Future awards ceremony honored products that contribute to the future and consumer health. In the competition, BEE'O's Throat Spray, Anti-wrinkle Anti-aging Eye Contour Serum and Propolis Bee Bread Lozenge were deemed worthy of awards in 3 different categories.

Entrepreneur Dr. Aslı Elif Tanuğur Samancı, who won 3 different awards, said: "These awards, which are a wonderful source of motivation for us, teach us to continue working like bees! Due to the adverse effects of global warming on climate, it is projected that the maturation periods of agricultural products will change and yields may decline, with some agricultural areas becoming arid while others become unusable due to flooding. Reducing water used in agriculture and food processing waste, ensuring food security, extending shelf life in storage, developing and using new food processing techniques, producing functional foods, providing supplementation that balances the basic nutritional content of food, and raising nutrient bioavailability are important steps in combating food scarcity through research and dissemination of results."

Samancı continued: "For approximately 100 million years, honey bees have contributed to the ecosystem through pollination and plant diversity, agricultural production and the emergence of bee products. Bees are major organisms in the pollination process that enables fruit and seed production. One third of global agricultural production results from the pollination process carried out by honey bees. According to FAO data, 100 crops on which 90% of the world population depends are pollinated by bees. The pollination of some flowering plants is also carried out exclusively by bee species specialized for those plants. In recent years, colony collapse syndrome resulting in mass death of bee colonies is on the agenda. Among the causes of bee deaths, the use of chemicals called pesticides to eliminate pests in agricultural areas ranks first. For this reason, beekeeping activities must be carried out in areas with clean water sources, without waste and factories nearby, away from roads and free from pesticide use, and by educated beekeepers, which is essential for the reliability and sustainability of bee populations and beekeeping activities.
