Daikin Expanding R&D Centre

Daikin is making a EUR 3.5 million investment to expand its R&D centre at its Hendek facility. Daikin, an innovative brand in the air conditioning sector, is proceeding with a new investment to expand its R&D centre at its Hendek facility, with the investment cost of the new R&D centre building calculated at EUR 3.5 million. The Daikin R&D centre, currently operating across an area of 2,700 square metres, will reach a size of 6,000 square metres with the construction of the new building. The new R&D centre is planned to enter service in April 2024.

Daikin to Meet New Assembly and R&D Space Requirements from Potential Growth

Construction of the new centre will begin in April 2023, with the building area calculated at 4,500 square metres, and 1,200 square metres of the existing R&D centre building will be relocated to the newly constructed building. In this way, Daikin will meet the new assembly and R&D space requirements resulting from potential growth. The centre will also respond to increased employment in the R&D field. Serving as one of the region's strongest R&D centres, the facility has to date developed split air conditioning units for individual or centralised systems, natural gas boilers and combination units, ducted and cassette-type fan coils, and air handling units for Turkey, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and CIS countries.

Aiming to Meet Expansion Requirements Following F25 Targets

Through its emphasis on innovation, Daikin has reached a position where it sets the standards of its sector, and the company owns proprietary inventions and numerous patents whose use it has opened to the world. The company is making R&D and innovation an integral part of its corporate culture and, for this purpose, is making substantial investments in R&D in every region in which it operates. With the EUR 3.5 million investment to be realised in the new R&D centre building in Hendek, Daikin aims to meet expansion requirements following its F25 targets and to create new employment in this field.
