GSK Türkiye, in cooperation with Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı (TOG), will provide support totaling TRY 900,000 to compensate for losses incurred by local residents whose livelihoods depend on livestock farming as a result of forest fires. GSK Türkiye began working with TOG, which has signed off on many projects in the past, to stand by the affected population in the fire-stricken regions. Following damage assessment work initiated by TOG, a founding member of the Disaster Platform, in the fire-stricken regions, GSK Türkiye will provide support totaling TRY 900,000 to residents in these areas, prioritizing the economic development of citizens engaged in livestock farming and those who suffered losses of livestock, and addressing losses related to livestock farming. Within the scope of the project, livestock purchases will be carried out for local residents engaged in livestock farming through TOG in all regions affected by the fires, and contributions will be made to meet necessary livestock farming-related needs. GSK Türkiye Communications and Patient Relations Leader Selcen Çökdü stated, "Like everyone else, we are deeply saddened by the fires that have occurred in many provinces of our country. As GSK, we evaluated with the TOG team how we could provide the most beneficial support to the fire-affected regions on this matter. As a result of preliminary work, we determined that the local population in fire-affected regions, whose primary sources of livelihood are agriculture and livestock farming, are experiencing serious economic hardships. In this direction, through TOG, we are working with Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Directorates to carry out activities regarding livestock purchases and addressing livestock farming-related needs in the regions," he said. TOG General Director Murat Çitilgülü said, "This project, which we will implement together with GSK Türkiye with the aim of restoring economic capacity to the local population for whom livestock farming is one of the primary sources of livelihood and ensuring its sustainability, holds great value for us. As TOG, we will continue to provide necessary support in regions in need, as we have done so far and will do so in the future."
