Cement Industry and Technologies Conference Held in Istanbul

The 8th International Cement Industry and Technologies Conference was successfully held on 30 June 2021 at the Crowne Plaza Istanbul Asia Hotel & Convention Center in Istanbul under COVID-19 safety measures. At the conference, Abut Özsezikli, General Manager of MEDCEM Global, spoke about the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on global trade, while Emre Ergun, Turkey Manager at IEP Technologies, delivered a successful presentation on Fire and Explosion Risks and Risk Mitigation Measures in the Production and Use of Waste-Derived Fuels. Metehan Severoğlu from AŞKALE ÇİMENTO addressed process excellence in his remarks, and Turgay Özkun, Chairman of the Board at KÜB, also delivered presentations on Chemical Additives Market Assessments and Energy Efficiency. On the topic of sustainability, Gilles Covello, Deputy General Manager of Operations at AKÇANSA, and Yasin Yiğit, Sustainability and Environment Manager at Nuh Çimento, contributed to the event with their successful presentations. Participants had the opportunity to network during coffee breaks and lunch at the event, which also featured remarks from Sadiye Bilgiç Karabulut, Head of Waste Management Department at the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Presentations on Industry 4.0 by Mr. Kalra from India and Özlem Kalkan, Deputy General Manager of Sales and Product Management at SabandıDX, were conducted via digital platform. The program concluded following closing remarks by Dr. Cengiz Çelik, General Manager of ARKOZ Ağrı Çimento, as the guest of honor, who provided assessments on the "New Normal" in the Cement Sector.
