Berko İlaç Opens Muazzez Beran Middle School in Diyarbakır

Berko İlaç Opens Muazzez Beran Secondary School in Diyarbakır Berko İlaç built a 16-classroom school in Kayapınar district, central Diyarbakır. The school was constructed by Muazzez Beran, Board Member of Berko İlaç, and Berat Beran, Board Chairman of Berko İlaç. At the opening ceremony, Muazzez Beran and Berat Beran made remarks and expressed their satisfaction with their contribution to education. The opening ceremony of the school built by Berko İlaç took place on Monday, 6 September, the first day of the 2021-2022 academic year. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Diyarbakır Fatih Cıdıroğlu, Member of Parliament for Diyarbakır Oya Eronat, Provincial Director of National Education Yüksel Arslan, District Director of National Education Aydın Ak, Kayapınar District Governor Ünal Koç and guests. The opening of the school was performed by Yüksel Arslan, Provincial Director of National Education, cutting the ribbon. At this opening, Deputy Governor of Diyarbakır Fatih Cıdıroğlu, Muazzez Beran, Board Member of Berko İlaç, and Berat Beran, Board Chairman of Berko İlaç, delivered remarks. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests toured the school and interacted with students. Student registrations for the first term were also completed at the 16-classroom Muazzez Beran Secondary School.

"My Greatest Dream Was to Build a School in Our Country"

Muazzez Beran, who was withdrawn from school after completing primary education because she was a girl and who has therefore throughout her life greatly valued supporting education and students, said: "I had the opportunity to realize my 40-year dream, and I wish everyone could do the good they desire. At our school, I hope that many generations beneficial to our country and the world will be raised." Berat Beran, Board Chairman of Berko İlaç, stated: "They used to say girls did not study. This belief wounded my wife Muazzez Hanım and her greatest dream was to have a school built in our country. Today we are proud that this dream has become a reality."
