Leadership Change at BASF: Daniel Wussow Appointed Head of Care Chemicals Division
A senior leadership change has taken place at BASF. Daniel Wussow (39), who has served as Senior Vice President of Mobile Emissions Catalysts at BASF Shanghai Management Company, will take over as President of the BASF Care Chemicals Division effective 1 April 2026. In his new role, Wussow will be based at BASF's headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
BASF announces executive leadership change. Daniel Wussow (39), who serves as Senior Vice President of Mobile Emission Catalysts at BASF Shanghai Management Company, will assume the position of Head of BASF Maintenance Chemicals Division effective 1 April 2026. In his new role, Wussow will be based at BASF's headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
As part of this appointment, Wussow will succeed Dr. Mary Kurian (48), who has been assigned as a Board Member. The change is viewed as an important step in strengthening BASF's global strategic restructuring in the maintenance chemicals sector.

Born in Cologne in 1986, Daniel Wussow earned a master's degree in international business from HULT International Business School. Married with two children, Wussow will lead BASF's maintenance chemicals portfolio in global-scale strategy, business development and market management processes in his new role.
