Axalta Officially Opens World's Largest R&D Center Focused on Paint and Color

Axalta, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder paints, officially inaugurated its Global Innovation Centre on 7 November, the world's largest paint research and development facility. The 16,000 m2 Global Innovation Centre provides unique specialist laboratories and office space. Located at Philadelphia's historic Navy Yard, it fosters collaboration among Axalta employees, business partners, and customers from within and outside Philadelphia. Robert Bryant, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Axalta, stated: "Axalta's Global Innovation Centre will be the hub of our global research, product development and technology initiatives, where we develop and supply the world's most innovative paint products. Whether it is colour technology, polymer and formulation chemistry or application expertise, the world-class capabilities at Axalta's Global Innovation Centre will create new products and deliver solutions that will take our customers' businesses into the future." The Navy Yard location offers an attractive work environment for new talent, and Axalta's campus has been built to create an academic setting with various indoor and outdoor spaces designed to foster team spirit and unlock creativity. Barry Snyder, Senior Vice President, Technology at Axalta, said: "The team of scientists and technicians at Axalta's Global Innovation Centre will develop next-generation paint products and keep pace with emerging application needs. Regulations and customer demands are driving the shift towards technologically advanced, more sophisticated paints. Developing products that meet these and other requirements will be the mission of the Global Innovation Centre and Axalta's worldwide research and development network." Axalta hosted more than 100 customers on facility tours during the Global Innovation Centre's opening.
