ASAŞ Showcases New Investments and Advanced Aluminium Technologies at Aluminium 2026

ASAŞ, one of the global producers in the aluminium sector, showcased its new technology investments and integrated production capabilities at the Aluminium 2026 Fair held in Düsseldorf, Germany on 6-8 October 2026. The company brought together global OEM representatives and procurement teams around its Advanced Aluminium Technologies portfolio—featuring aluminium foam and aluminium powder products introduced for the first time—as well as its 150MN extrusion press line, its doubled aluminium flat products production capacity, and its production operations in France.
One of Europe's High-Capacity Extrusion Press Investments
Leading the investments highlighted by ASAŞ at the fair was its 150MN (15,000-ton) extrusion press line. The line enables the production of profiles reaching 1,000 mm in width and 670 mm in height, as well as parts up to 30 meters in length, offering significant production capacity for large-scale structural applications.
The mandrel extrusion technology used in the system enables seamless tube production. The facility also supports the processing of high-strength 2000 and 7000 series alloys, enabling complex welded assembly groups to be produced as a single piece.
Developed primarily for rail systems and wagon manufacturing, as well as sectors requiring advanced engineering such as automotive, aerospace and energy, the investment makes it possible to produce large structural parts as a single piece. This allows for the development of solutions for lighter, high-strength and reliable structures by reducing welding and joining operations.
Flat Products Capacity Doubled
As part of its growth strategy in flat products manufacturing, ASAŞ doubled its annual production capacity with its second 6-Hi CVC cold rolling investment, which it has now commissioned. Described as the first and only such line in Türkiye and one of the few such investments made in Europe over the past 15 years, the six-roll CVC-featured line enables the effective rolling of hard alloys such as the 5000, 6000 and 7000 series.
Equipped with precise thickness control and advanced flatness systems, the line supports production at high quality standards.
Last year, ASAŞ acquired the facility belonging to Eurofoil in Rugles, France, and began continuing its operations under the name ASAŞ S.A.S. With this step, the company strengthened its production presence within the borders of the European Union. By bringing together the production capacity of its integrated facilities in Sakarya with that of its factory in France, ASAŞ has become one of Europe's three largest aluminium foil producers with its aluminium foil products for the flexible packaging, food, pharmaceutical and automotive sectors.
Product Diversity Expanding in Aluminium Flat Products
The newly commissioned thin lacquer line at ASAŞ's flat products facility, along with the thick lacquer line that has begun trial production, are increasing the company's product and application diversity. The lines, which enable the production of lacquered products in thicknesses ranging from 7 microns to 300 microns, support the development of solutions tailored to customers' project and application needs.
The company also presented its flat products investments at the fair within the framework of its ALWIS (Aluminium. Light. Wise. Infinite. Sustainable.) approach. Bringing together efficient production methods, recycled materials and renewable energy sources, the ALWIS approach aims to reduce aluminium's carbon footprint without compromising on quality and performance.
Advanced Aluminium Technologies Introduced for the First Time
ASAŞ officially launched its Advanced Aluminium Technologies business unit, which focuses on sustainability, the circular economy and high-performance engineering applications, at Aluminium 2026. In this context, aluminium foam and aluminium powder technologies were introduced to industry professionals.
Aluminium foam is produced using 100% recycled aluminium and 100% renewable electricity. Developed for the automotive, defense and aerospace sectors, the material offers solutions for impact and collision energy absorption as well as sound and vibration insulation needs.
Aluminium powders produced through mechanical methods, meanwhile, are manufactured in various particle sizes under an inert nitrogen gas process at a facility with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons. The products provide high-purity, low-carbon-footprint raw materials for metallurgical, chemical and advanced industrial applications.
ASAŞ's Integrated Production Structure and Future Vision
In his assessment of the fair, ASAŞ General Manager Derya Hatiboğlu noted that the operations in France increase the company's geographic and operational flexibility in the European market.
Hatiboğlu stated that thanks to its doubled aluminium flat products capacity, its 150MN extrusion press line, and its aluminium foam and aluminium powder technologies, ASAŞ is positioned as a production partner capable of responding to the complex engineering demands of global OEMs and heavy industry under a single roof.
