Buyurgan also noted that they began work in 2007 on sustainable raw material supply and developing wheat varieties suitable for biscuit production, and that the Aliağa Biscuit Wheat project has now met Ülker products, with the products reaching shelves.
Pointing out that Ülker continues to make an impact at national and international platforms with its sustainability initiatives, Buyurgan continued as follows:
"We were awarded the Sustainable Business Awards 2022 in the 'Collaboration and NGOs' category with our 'Beyond Cocoa' project. With the project we launched two years ago, we are carefully monitoring every step of the journey from farm to table in order to ensure the sustainability of the cocoa supply chain. Through collaborations that include field inspections, information gathering and supplier meetings, we aim to support long-term community development and environmental improvement." Buyurgan, noting that market leadership in biscuits and chocolate in Turkey continues strongly, said, "Looking at the region; our market leadership in the biscuits category continues in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
